The Perfect French Martini

The Perfect French Martini Recipe

Before we enter the season of warm mulling spices and tart apple cider, we thought summer deserved one last hurrah with a simple and refreshing summer cocktail--the Perfect French Martini!

The French Martini, first crafted in New York in the 1980s, is sweet and fruity. Although we tried several variations found online, none of them quite met the standard presented by one of our favorite local restaurants in Williamsburg, Virginia, Cochon on 2nd. Not only is their culinary experience absolutely divine, but they have truly perfected their Perfect French Martini. We would choose it over our favorite glass of wine any day!

Thus, we set out to recreate their recipe. After concocting many French Martinis, we finally did it! We are confident we found a ratio comparable to that of this exceptional restaurant. Perhaps we can verify one day, if Cochon on 2nd were to share their secret with us!

Ingredients You will Need

  • 4 oz. Vanilla Vodka
  • 3 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • 3 oz Chambord (French raspberry liqueur)

Instructions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Pour all three ingredients into the shaker.
  3. Shake vigorously. This step is important because it gives the top of the cocktail a beautiful, light layer of foam.
  4. Pour into a chilled martini glass*

*To chill your martini glasses, simply place them in your freezer up to an hour before serving.

Finally, it is easy to elevate your presentation with a few simple touches, such as adding garnish or fun cocktail napkins. On Fleming Lane, we love using our Happy Hour Cocktail napkins, linked here. Although these suggestions are optional, they add thoughtful interest. It is often the small things that family and friends find most memorable!

We hope you enjoy our Perfectly French Martini. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Cheers!
